2017 VW Golf with new 1.5-liter TSI engine now available to order

Volkswagen has opened the order books for the 2017 Golf with the new 1.5-liter TSI unit.
The new 1.5-liter turbocharged engine can be ordered with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or 7-speed DSG and features common rail direct injection, turbocharger and active cylinder management (ACT). When travelling within the engine speed range of 1,400–4,000 rpm and at speeds up to 130 km/h, the ACT imperceptibly switches two of the four cylinders off completely, depending on the load, significantly reducing the fuel consumption and exhaust emissions. The four-cylinder petrol engine is producing 110 kW / 150 PS and 250Nm (184lb-ft) of peak torque from as little as 1,500 rpm.
When equipped with a manual gearbox the consumption range is 5.0 l/100 km (114 g/km CO2) and 4.9 l/100 km and 112 g/km CO2 with the optional seven-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The new Golf 1.5 TSI can be ordered immediately from the Comfortline equipment line upwards, while the base price starts from €26,400.
