Police forces in Italy have received two Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloces. The cars will join the two Giulia QV medical cars that are already in service.
The Giulia Veloce comes powered by the new all-aluminium 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine that provides 280 HP at 5,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 400Nm at 2,250 rpm. It sprints from 0-100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds. There’s also and 2.2-liter diesel version that also has been built entirely in aluminium (first diesel engine in Alfa Romeo history). It delivers 210 hp and 470 Nm of torque. Both models comes standard with an all-wheel drive system and the eight-speed automatic transmission. But the two cars that Alfa Romeo is loaning are gasoline variant.
Besides the Alfa Romeo Veloce, the Police department has also received and the first Jeep Renegade and Alfa Romeo Giulietta. The Renegade is 2.0-liter Multijet four-wheel drive Italian-spec model. The inline four-cylinder engine delivers 120 hp, while as for the Alfa Romeo Giulietta, the Italian police has opted for 120 hp 1.6-liter Multijet model.
