Honda Reveals All-new 2017 Civic Si Coupe and Sedan – Video

Honda has finally unveiled the long-awaited Civic Si in both Coupe and Sedan guise. The all-new Si is most agile, best-handling Si yet and for the first time gets turbo.
Both sporty Si variants are designed for the everyday enthusiast and feature front fascia with larger side air intakes, aggressive black wing and a chrome center-mounted polygonal exhaust finisher. There’s also a larger side vent features and a deck lid spoiler incorporating a LED brake light at the rear as well as a prominent raised spoiler and 18-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels with exclusive two-tone finish, wearing 235mm-wide, low-profile tires. The 2017 Civic Si is significantly lighter than the previous generation, though Honda doesn’t specify exactly by how much. The new model has a more rigid body, including highly upgraded chassis and drive components. These upgrades include a sport-tuned suspension, an adaptive damper system, a helical limited-slip differential, adaptive electric power steering system with variable ratios and larger 12.3-inch front brake rotors and wider 235/40 R18 tires with a performance tire option among others.
Beneath the skin, the 2017 Civic Si is powered by the 1.5-liter, directed-injected and turbocharged DOHC in-line 4-cylinder engine with dual variable cam timing delivering 205 horsepower at 5700 rpm and the peak torque of 192 lb-ft available from 2100 rpm to 5000 rpm. The Civic Si is only available with a 6-speed manual transmission.
Opening a door and sliding behind the wheel, you’re treated with Si-exclusive bolstered front sport seats with red stitching, including stitched Si logos. This motif is carried over to the doors, steering wheel and leather shift boot with aluminum shift knob. The interior also features a dual-zone automatic climate control, a red driver’s TFT meter and audio system illumination, aluminum sport pedals and Dry Metal Carbon instrument panel trim.
2017 Civic Si Coupe and Sedan will arrive at Honda dealerships next month with an MSRP in the mid-$20,000 range.
