Honda’s Sporty and Turbocharged 2017 Honda Civic Si Coupe and Sedan Goes On Sale, Starts From $23,900
The latest and sportiest additions to the 10th-generation Civic lineup, the all-new 2017 Honda Civic Si Coupe and Civic Si Sedan goes on sale at Honda dealerships with a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP)1 starting at $23,900. The new generation is Honda’s first ever turbocharged Civic Si and packs more torque and broader power band than any previous Si model.
The all-new Civic Si features an aggressive front fascia with gloss black Honda “wing” and large lower air intakes and a chrome center-mounted polygonal exhaust finisher. Additional the Si Coupe features a prominent raised wing spoiler, while the Si Sedan includes an exclusive rear fascia and decklid wing spoiler incorporating a LED brake light.
The new Si is significantly lighter from previous Si models, with the Si Sedan being down 96lbs from the previous model with a curb weight of 2,906lbs and the Si Coupe is 113lbs lighter from its predecessor, at 2,889lbs. It also boasts sport-tuned suspension featuring a two-mode adaptive damper system, a helical limited-slip differential, a dual-pinion adaptive electric power steering system with variable ratios and larger 12.3-inch front brake rotors (+0.5 inches).
Beneath the skin, the model is powered by an 1.5-liter, direct-injected and turbocharged DOHC in-line 4-cylinder engine with dual variable cam timing (dual VTC) delivering 205 horsepower and peak torque of 192 lb-ft. The engine is mated exclusively to a short-throw, 6-speed manual transmission.
The cabin features exclusive bolstered front sport seats with red stitching, leather wrapped steering wheel, shift boot and sporty leather and aluminum shift knob. The red detailing continues onto the driver’s TFT meter as well as the audio illumination, while aluminum sport pedals and carbon-look instrument panel trim rounds up the interior appearance.
