Mazda on the British market has revealed another special edition version of its award-winning MX-5 convertible.
Called Arctic edition, the new model is based on the 1.5-liter 131ps SE-L Nav, meaning that the special edition will accelerate from rest to 0-62mph in 8.3 seconds before hitting a top speed of 127mph. It features a Blue Reflex Metallic paint and contrasting bright silver design cues across the exterior, such as a silver windscreen surround, silver wing mirrors and the 16-inch Silver alloy wheels.
Inside, the stand-out feel continues with silver headrests, silver cup holder rings, chrome scuff plates and a numbered limited edition badge on the dashboard. The additional equipment includes automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, rear parking sensors and heated leather seats.
This is the second MX-5 to wear the Arctic badge, the first car that used the name was the second-generation MX-5 in 2005. It was available with 1.6i and 1.8i powertrains and was offered in a choice of Sunlight silver, Titanium grey or Razor Blue paint and the standard equipment tally included heated dark blue leather seats, 15-inch alloy wheels, blue door inserts, air conditioning, and chrome detailing on the window mountings.
Limited to just 400 units, this UK exclusive special edition will go on sale from February, 2017. It will be priced from £20,995, or £800 more than the standard MX-5 SE-L.
